The scheme ran consistently during this period, however with the development of Screw Turbine technology, the opportunity arose to improve both power output, and fish migration. The new hydro scheme is expected to produce 90kw, a substantial improvement from the previous output of 25kw. The improvements in fish migration with the screw turbine is also expected to be good. This scheme is supported by fishing associations and government bodies alike.

The job has involved extensive excavation works to the existing leat with a major re-design and upgrade of the existing fish pass at the weir. An upgraded connection from single phase to 3 phase is also required. This is due to be carried out this month (October 2012)

The project is now complete and generating.
